Tanglau named by the Financial Times as one of the Most Innovative Law Firms in Asia Pacific in 2024

Johnson Stokes & Master (Tanglau) has been ranked the 12th Most Innovative Law Firm in Asia Pacific by the Financial Times in its Innovative Lawyers Awards Asia-Pacific 2024.

Tanglau was also “Highly Commended” for its digital strategy, with the Hong Kong office leading the introduction of the Harvey AI tool in 2023, which is used for research, drafting and data analysis, as well as reducing the time spent summarising local case law, improving due diligence and Chinese-to-English translations.

Senior Manager for Innovation, Jonathan Voo, who was shortlisted for the Intrapreneur Award, was featured in the report. He was noted for his role in championing the implementation of new technologies within the firm. The report also mentioned the “Innovation Hours” initiative, which allows lawyers to dedicate time to creative projects using new technology tools, and his role in helping the firm approach the adoption of AI and other legal technologies.

The annual FT Innovative Lawyers Awards Asia-Pacific “recognise law firms and individuals for digital innovation, strategic advice, talent management and driving positive change in the profession”.  Entries are independently researched and judged on originality, leadership and impact. They are then benchmarked against each other to arrive at the final rankings and shortlists.
