Hannah says that China and the Middle East have strengthened their cooperation in recent years. Energy, trade and infrastructure are the traditional key areas of cooperation between the two regions. Meanwhile, the Middle East’s rapid restructuring in recent years to establish a more diversified economic structure aligns strongly with China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative.
