Experience
Advised and acted for global corporates, including gaming entities (from Macau and Singapore) on regulatory issues and various litigation on enforcement of gaming credit in Hong Kong.
Advised and acted for a Hong Kong-listed company in obtaining a favourable award in arbitration proceedings concerning an agreement for acquisition of equity in a gas project in Mainland China. Upon obtaining an arbitration award in favour of the client, continued to assist the client in applying for enforcement of the arbitration award in the Hong Kong court, opposing the other side’s application to the Hong Kong court to set aside the arbitration award; in the meantime, assisted the client in applying for injunctions from the Hong Kong court to restrain the opposite party and a third party from dissipating or disposing of their assets.
Advised an independent statutory body established under an Ordinance in a broad range of issues, including primary and subsidiary legislation review, policy and regulation planning in Hong Kong and contract review.
Advised and acted for major financial institutions in banking and enforcement disputes.
Advised and acted for major real estate property developers in land related court proceedings.
Advised and acted for a major property developer in a judicial review in a successful town planning appeal, concerning the Town Planning Board’s decision relating to the commencement of an approved residential development proposal.
Advised and acted for Hong Kong-listed real estate property developer in defending adverse possession claims.
Advised trustees, under various notes/bonds on enforcement actions against issuers and guarantors, mostly Chinese property developers.
