Overview

Ka Wai Leung is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Tanglau's Hong Kong office. She has experience in commercial, banking and finance and real estate litigation, international arbitration, tenancy disputes, trust and estate disputes and bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings. She has also advised clients on compliance with gaming law. Clients that she assists include banks, multinational corporations, property developers, landlords, global gaming corporates and individual clients.

Experience

  • Acted for major corporations in the local marine industry in defending a contractual dispute and resisting interlocutory injunction and discovery applications.
  • Acted for a Chinese company in an UNCITRAL arbitration on a dispute under a bilateral investment treaty.
  • Represented major banks and global gaming corporates in enforcing their securities and rights (including mortgagee actions), obtaining judgments/orders, recovering debts and defending vexatious litigants.
  • Acted for an international corporation in an HKIAC arbitration on a cryptocurrency mining equipment dispute.
  • Acted for major developers in Hong Kong in land resumption disputes, advancing or defending adverse possession claims and appealing against slope maintenance orders.
  • Represented major landlords and a statutory body in tenancy disputes in recovery of possession.
